The Centre for a Better Britain
The Centre for a Better Britain (CFABB) think tank has been founded to address the multiple crises the country now faces.
We exist to help develop world-class policy that can halt decline, bring hope for the future, and – ultimately – deliver a Better Britain.
CFABB | Our Mission
CFABB’s mission is to help inform credible, robust policy that can enable meaningful change for Britain through bold transformation.
All of our work is underpinned by a simple belief – that a Better Britain is a nation that embraces its history, identity and culture. To preserve these we now need radical action to reform the state and return it to democratic accountability.
It is a conviction that spurs us to seek insights that have a tangible connection to the real world, and Great Britain’s place within it.

CFABB | Why Now?
Britain is simply broken. Like much of the Western world, our nation is in crisis.
Reeling from the failure of liberal consensus, impacted by the rise of non-Western powers that do not share our core values.
This is a precarious position: too many are reliant on welfare, too few benefit from opportunity.
Economically, culturally, fiscally, and institutionally, the system no longer works for the majority, and frequently carries the burden of policy that exacerbates the very problems it seeks to regulate.
Public borrowing is at unsustainable levels. If these trends continue, then Britain faces stagnation at best, and at worst, the risk of social unrest.
It is an unspoken truth: we do not need incrementalism – we need rapid, radical reform that delivers coherent, achievable outcomes.
CFABB | Papers and Reports
Our Papers & Reports present independent, evidence-based analysis on the urgent challenges and opportunities facing Britain.
In Case of Emergency: The UK’s Fiscal Challenge
This paper sets out a coordinated policy response for the event of a UK sovereign debt crisis. It offers realistic options to restore market confidence, reduce spending, and lay the groundwork for sustainable growth.

We will be ruthlessly honest
The challenges we face are generational, severe, and interconnected.
For far too long, policy-makers have scratched the surface, unwilling to embrace unpalatable truths. As a result, politicians have remained ignorant of the bigger picture, with less and less accountability from one generation to the next.
However, if we recognise there is opportunity in crisis, then the future can be golden.
We will have the courage to speak up
By embracing hard realities, we believe CFABB can inspire a bold new agenda. Over time, we aim to offer the knowledge and direction that can shape wide-reaching policies for the benefit of all – credible, achievable, and grounded in expertise.
That said, effective policy always goes hand in hand with political strategy.
That is why our work will always go to the heart of Britain’s long-term prosperity – national infrastructure, the civil service, the judiciary, and institutions that have become not only siloed from the executive, but increasingly change-resistant.
We will remain unequivocally, politically independent
In all of our rigorous research and evidence-based proposals, and no matter what the policy nor the stakeholders we seek to inform – politicians, policymakers, the media, academia, or the general public – we will always remain politically independent.
CFABB | How Will We Work?
CFABB will work in depth, in detail, and with absolute integrity.

We believe that a Better Britain is a nation rooted in its identity, honest about its challenges, and ready to lead again.

CFABB | Our Scope and Ambition
Leading academics, subject-matter experts, business leaders, parliamentarians, and aligned partners across the spectrum will help us to develop the thinking that can shape ambitious policies for a Better Britain.
Some of our insights will be for wider publication, others will be commissioned and available for private use. Backed by peer review, modelling, and in-depth scenario planning, this work will include:
-
Exploring radical ideas that can transform the nation and its economy, and help improve the quality of life for all;
-
Developing options for constitutional reform and new policy to help prepare the next government in 2029 – now is the time to gather that insight;
-
Collaborating with ambitious, like-minded individuals across the spectrum;
-
Campaigning on key issues, consulting, amplifying the conversation, and encouraging discourse among like-minded people and organisations;
-
Acting as a bridge for transatlantic dialogue, fostering collaboration and influencing decision-making in both Britain and the USA;
-
Surfacing the insights to help better-inform Britain’s future leaders – special advisers, inspiring thinkers – ensuring they are ready to govern from Day One.
