The Centre for a Better Britain
The Centre for a Better Britain (CFABB) think tank has been founded to address the multiple crises the country now faces.
We exist to help develop world-class policy that can halt decline, bring hope for the future, and - ultimately - deliver a Better Britain.
CFABB | Our Mission
CFABB’s mission is to help inform credible, robust policy that can enable meaningful change for Britain through bold transformation.
All of our work is underpinned by a simple belief – that a Better Britain is a nation that embraces its history, identity and culture. To preserve these we now need radical action to reform the state and return it to democratic accountability.
It is a conviction that spurs us to seek insights that have a tangible connection to the real world, and Great Britain’s place within it.

CFABB | Why Now?
Britain is simply broken. Like much of the Western world, our nation is in crisis.
Reeling from the failure of liberal consensus, impacted by the rise of non-Western powers that do not share our core values.
This is a precarious position: too many are reliant on welfare, too few benefit from opportunity.
Economically, culturally, fiscally, and institutionally, the system no longer works for the majority, and frequently carries the burden of policy that exacerbates the very problems it seeks to regulate.
Public borrowing is at unsustainable levels. If these trends continue, then Britain faces stagnation at best, and at worst, the risk of social unrest.
It is an unspoken truth: we do not need incrementalism – we need rapid, radical reform that delivers coherent, achievable outcomes.

We believe that a Better Britain is a nation rooted in its identity, honest about its challenges, and ready to lead again.

CFABB | Our Scope and Ambition
Leading academics, subject-matter experts, business leaders, parliamentarians, and aligned partners across the spectrum will help us to develop the thinking that can shape ambitious policies for a Better Britain.
Some of our insights will be for wider publication, others will be commissioned and available for private use. Backed by peer review, modelling, and in-depth scenario planning, this work will include:
-
Exploring radical ideas that can transform the nation and its economy, and help improve the quality of life for all;
-
Developing options for constitutional reform and new policy to help prepare the next government in 2029 – now is the time to gather that insight;
-
Collaborating with ambitious, like-minded individuals across the spectrum;
-
Campaigning on key issues, consulting, amplifying the conversation, and encouraging discourse among like-minded people and organisations;
-
Acting as a bridge for transatlantic dialogue, fostering collaboration and influencing decision-making in both Britain and the USA;
-
Surfacing the insights to help better-inform Britain’s future leaders – special advisers, inspiring thinkers – ensuring they are ready to govern from Day One.
